DAHLONEGA — Four North Georgia baseball players hit homers as the Nighthawks cruised to a 15-0 win over Toccoa Falls College on Wednesday evening at Bob Stein Stadium. The Nighthawks improved to 22-16 with the non-conference win.
The Nighthawks got on the board in the second with two outs when Kevin Krupp earned his 10th RBI of the year on a single to center.
Two innings later in the fourth, UNG lit up the scoreboard with six runs. The inning started with a leadoff no-doubter from Ryan Tomita. After the Nighthawks loaded the bases with two outs, Sam Tidaback legged out an infield single that scored Josh Peterson. Leading 4-0 after Krupp scored on a wild pitch, Steven Tomlinson hit his seventh homer of the season, a three-run blast to right center that stretched the Nighthawk lead to 7-0.
After a Devin Gearhart sacrifice fly in the fifth, Tidaback hit the third UNG home run of the night in the sixth, a mile-high shot to left field to extend the lead to 9-0.
North Georgia struck for six more in the seventh, highlighted by Connor Hoover's first career grand slam that put UNG up, 15-0, which ended up being the game's final score.
