MONROE — The Lakeview Academy tennis teams took an impressive sweep over George Walton Academy:Tuesday in Region 8-A action in the final regular season matches for both squads.
The Lady Lions (9-4) took a 5-0 victory. Damira Augustin, Presley Jackson, and Natalie Clark got singles wins while the doubles teams of Abby Barford and Lanie Clark and Emma Martin and Maggie Narvil also took wins.
The Lakeview boys (9-4) took a 4-1 win with their only loss coming in a forfeit at No. 3 singles.
Jonathan Kerwin and Brooks Hylton won in singles. In doubles, the team of Jonathan Schaefer and Avery Jackson and the team William Ball and Tyler Grabau took big wins.
Both the Lakeview will open play in the Region 8-A Torunament next Monday in Athens.
