LANCASTER, S.C. - Trey Starks made his first visit to the Lancaster Super Speedway in Lancaster, S.C. a memorable one, as he beat out Nick Snyder for the victory in Friday night’s USCS Sprint Car Series feature.
It marks the third career USCS victory for the Puyallup, Washington driver
Starks started sixth on the grid, and moved into third position by the end of the first lap. It took nine more laps for Starks to run down Snyder. On the tenth lap, Starks made the pass for the lead and would never give up the top spot.
The race was slowed three times for caution periods, but each time Starks held off Snyder’s challenges en route to the victory.
Snyder would have to settle for second, with Mitch Brown in third, Johnny Bridges in fourth and Justin Barger in fifth.
Danny Smith, Terry Gray, Jake McLain, Morgan Turpen and Brandon McLain rounded out the top ten.
The only rollover of the night occurred when Brian Thomas from Pendergrass, Georgia flipped on the second lap of the main event. Fortunately he was uninjured.
Bridges kicked off the evening’s USCS racing action by winning the Hoosier Tire Speed Dash. Brown scored the win in the first heat, while Trey Starks was the winner in the second heat.
