DEMOREST — Jessica Bagwell once again got it done offensively for the Piedmont College softball team, as she had six RBI Saturday with a three-run home run and a three-run double leading the Lady Lions in a pair of victories over LaGrange 6-3 and 6-2. Piedmont clinched at least a share of the USA South regular season title with the victories with just two contests remaining in conference play on Sunday.
Bagwell's blast put the Lady Lions ahead in game one 3-0 in the third inning and Piedmont added one more in the frame as Allyson Gentry singled to send in Allison Vaughn. With a 4-0 lead, PC added another in the fourth making it 5-0 before the Panthers put up all three of their runs in the top of the fifth.
Piedmont added another in the bottom of the sixth as Hannah Hoban hit a hard single through the left side scoring Laura Carter providing the final score of 6-3. Melissa Eckman earned the win pitching five innings giving up three runs on eight hits and fanning six batters.
Sarah Walker earned her first save of the season as she pitched two innings of relief in game one making her first appearance since March 20th for the Lady Lions.
The Panthers took the lead early in game two with a run in the top of the first and held the Lady Lions scoreless until the fourth inning. Piedmont scored a pair on a Gentry double and a single by Audrey Esakoff taking the lead 2-1.
A solo shot in the fifth by by Dani Gravett for the Panthers tied the game, but it was Bagwell who delivered the game-winning hit doubling to clear the bases and put Piedmont up 5-2.

Piedmont is back on the field against Huntingdon College Sunday for a noon start hosting the Hawks in the final regular season doubleheader of the season.
