Facebook brings its nationwide 'Boost Your Business' campaign to Gainesville

By AccessWDUN staff
Facebook has been conducting Boost Your Business seminars across the country, and the social media group will bring one of those seminars to Gainesville Wednesday morning.

The goal of the free seminar, which will take place at the Gainesville Civic Center, is to teach local small business owners how to optimize their presence and engage customers on the social network.

Georgia's Ninth District Congressman, Doug Collins of Gainesville, will offer welcoming remarks to participants.

“Small businesses—some of which have been here for decades—are at the heart of our community,” Collins said in an email statement.

“As a former small business owner, I know many of the challenges they face, which is why I’m grateful any time we have an opportunity to help the families who run these businesses, and give them tools to build on what they have established here in Northeast Georgia. Social media is one of the many resources available to help them reach their customers, and find their niche in our growing economy."

After Collins speaks and a Facebook small business expert makes a presentation, three local small businesses will take part in a panel discussion. The small businesses represented on the panel are North Georgia Canopy ToursPendergrass Flea Market and Tap It Growlers.

There is no charge to attend the event, but registration is required. Attendees may register online at fbgainesville.eventfarm.com/ or registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Civic Center on Green Street. The program begins at 10 a.m.
