UPDATE: Buford motorcyclist killed in McEver Road crash

By B.J. Williams

A motorcycle operator from Buford was killed in a two-vehicle crash on McEver Road Wednesday afternoon.

The Georgia State Patrol responded to the deadly collision around 1:15 p.m. at the intersection of McEver Road and Ga. 347.

Troopers said a 2004 BMW Z4 coupe, driven by 54-year-old Michel Kuzmowycz  of Buford, was traveling northbound on Ga. 347 approaching the intersection with McEver Road. As Kuzmowycz attempted to turn left onto McEver, the BMW struck a motorcycle that was traveling southbound on McEver.

The collision threw 26-year-old Eric Nicholas Bellinger of Buford from the motorcycle, according to troopers.  They said Bellinger was treated at the scene and then taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

Kuzmowycz also was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center to be treated for injuries sustained in the crash.

At this point in the investigation, no charges have been filed.
