UNG's Allen wins Brenau Golden Tiger Spring Invitational

GAINESVILLE — Taylor Allen edged teammate Carrilee Hiers by two shots to claim medalist honors as the North Georgia women's golf team fired a final round 316 to run away with the title at the Brenau Golden Tiger Spring Invitational on Tuesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

Allen final round 76 was a tournament low single round score as the junior finished with a 155. Hiers finished just two strokes back with a 78-79-157.

Anna Greer moved up six spots with a final round 80 (89-80-169) to finish sixth in the 37-player field. Mariana Pelaez rounded out the team scoring with an 84 (86-84-170, 7th).

Loyola posted a final round 326 to pass the host Golden Tigers for second place.

The tournament title is the Nighthawks' first since claiming the North Georgia Spring Invitational in 2012.

North Georgia wraps up the regular season on Apr. 4-5 at the West Georgia Spring Invitational.
