Ron Parker dominated Saturday night’s FASTRAK Late Model Mania feature at Lavonia Speedway, but just barely scored the win on the Lavonia, Ga. clay raceway.
Zach Mitchell made it interesting over the final ten laps, as he tried to make the move around Parker several times, but couldn’t quite make the move stick.
In the end, it was Parker holding on to score the win and the $3,000 payday.
“It was a great win for our team” said Parker, “They kept getting low and throwing the loose stuff in the groove and that made it tough in the end and I just have to thank Zach for driving me clean. My tires were gone and (he was) doing his best to get by, but this time it worked out for us.”
Mitchell finished in second, with Dale Timms in third, Frankie Beard in fourth and Colby Cannon in fifth.
Cla Knight, Ryan Montgomery, David Smith, Kyle Lukon and Steve “Hot Rod” LaMance rounded out the top ten.
In other action on the weekend, Daniel Snow beat out Chase Burdette for the Modified Street feature win. Clifton Snow finished in third, with Otis Murray in fourth and Paul Byrum in fifth.
Chris Wilbanks took the win in the Hobby Stock feature, with Scott Kennedy in second, Bobby Sexton in third, Rod Roberts in fourth and Tommy Riggins in fifth.
Jeff Dobbs topped the Stock 4 field for the feature victory. Jeremy Hicks, Randy Boshears, Kevin Kelly and Brandon Lambert rounded out the top five.
In the Stock 8 feature, Chayse York took the win. Jody Russell finished in second, with Ray Foskey in third.
Cody Lambert was the winner in the Rookie 4 feature, followed by Nathan Bowen in second, Matthew Fergurson in third, Preston Kelly in fourth and Tristan Collins in fifth.
Lucas Crow took the victory in the Front Wheel Drive feature, with Jason Richey finishing second, Daniel Reynolds third, Joel Powell, Sr. fourth and Joel Powell, Jr. fifth.
