UNG's Poole wins fifth straight Pitcher of the Week award

For the fifth consecutive week, University of North Georgia's Courtney Poole as been voted the Peach Belt Conference's AstroTurf Pitcher of the Week. The honor extends her record of consecutive weekly honors from the league and marks the sixth time this season she has garnered the accolade.

Poole delivered another astonishing week in the circle for No. 11 North Georgia picking up six victories including back-to-back no-hitters on the road against Georgia Southwestern last Wednesday, marking the first time in Peach Belt Conference history that a pitcher threw two no-hitters on the same day. In 47.0 innings pitched, Poole allowed just one earned run (0.15 ERA) while surrendering only 27 hits and seven strikeouts.

The Watkinsville native added 49 strikeouts to her 276 season total, which leads the NCAA in all divisions, while her 29 victories and 14 shutouts continue to lead the NCAA in all divisions as well.
