Hall County traffic stop leads to $22,400 drug seizure

Two women are behind bars, charged with possession and trafficking methamphetamine, following a traffic stop Friday in Hall County.

Lisa Buffington, 42, and Mary Shoemake, 36, were initially pulled over in the area of Atlanta Highway and RW Johnson Road for having a blown tail light, according to a press release from the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

During the stop, deputies found 232 grams (0.5 pounds) of methamphetamine, worth approximately $22,400. Deputies also found a small amount of marijuana and digital scales in the vehicle.

"This arrest comes after numerous complaints of drug sales taking place in the area of Atlanta Highway and Bolding Road," said Bailes.

The arrest happened around 10:00 a.m.

Authorities earlier listed the street value of the meth at $12,800.
