GAINESVILLE — The Riverside Military Academy boys tennis team handed Lakeview Academy its first loss of the season Monday.
The Eagles took a close 3-2 victory over the Lions at the Lakeview Academy Courts.
Riverside got two wins in siongles. Sipho Khoza defeated Jonathan Kerwin 7-5, 6-3 at No. 1 and the Eagles goty a forfeit win at No. 3 singles. Lakeview's Brooks Hylton beat Sibu Khoza 6-1, 7-5 at No. 2 singles.
In doubles, Lakeview's Avery Jackson and Jonathan Schaefer beat Paul Popovich and Russell Bolton 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 but Riverside's Josue Calderson and Brayden Lawson defeated William Ball and Tyler Grabau 6-4, 7-5 at No. 2.
Lakeveiw dropped to 5-1 on the season and next will travel to Tallulah Falls on Tuesday.
