A single lane of the Ga. 53 bridge westbound over Lake Lanier will be closed Saturday as crews work to paint the structure.
The closure will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., according to a press release from the Georgia Department of Transportation.
The painting comes as part of an going, $2,942,722 rehabilition project that began in October 2015.
Work is expected to be completed by June.
A painter had to be rescued Thursday afternoon after suffering injuries from a 12 foot fall while painting the bridge, though GDOT said this work was planned before that accident.
