UPDATE: Snow possible across north Georgia Monday, Tuesday

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor

Snow is possible across north Georgia Monday and Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service, but little or no accumulation is expected in the Gainesville area.  However, up to two inches may accumulate in places in the northeast Georgia mountains.

The weather service says snow is possible from Monday into Tuesday night along and north of a line from Athens-to-Eatonton-to-Columbus.   There is also the possibility of black ice overnight Monday and Tuesday in the affected areas.

Sunday afternoon, a Winter Weather Advisory was issued for parts of north Georgia.  Click here http://www.srh.noaa.gov/ffc/ for full details.

After an overnight low in the mid 30s in Gainesville Sunday, lows the rest of the week are expected to be in the 20s, bottoming out at 20 Wednesday night.  Daytime highs are expected to be in the 40s, except Tuesday (31) and Wednesday (36).

Meanwhile, parts of New England are bracing for another snowstorm. Click here http://accesswdun.com/article/2016/2/368407 for that story.
