Hall County man arrested for possessing two fake social security cards

A Hall County man faces charges for allegedly possessing two fake social security cards, which were found when deputies went to arrest him on a probation violation charge.

Joel Manuel Contreras, 37, was arrested without incident Dec. 23, according to a press release from the Hall County Sheriff's Office, and he now faces two counts of possessing fraudulent documents.

One of the social security cards had Contreras's name on it, but the number belonged to another person. The other card had a different person's name on it.

Contreras was on probation for aggravated assault and child cruelty charges, stemming from a 2013 incident where he allegedly drove a vehicle towards his girlfriend and children during a domestic dispute.

Contreras was booked into the Hall County Jail, and the case remains under investigation.
