Gwinnett County Police have identified the victim of a fatal wreck that happened early Monday morning on I-985 in Buford.
Michael L. Bruce, 29, was headed south, attempting to exit onto Ga. 20 (Exit 4), according to a police report, when he tried to pass a car on the right shoulder as the two vehicles were exiting the roadway.
Bruce's car hit the second car, driven by Jeny M. Jackson, 29, of Oakwood, causing them both to wreck.
Bruce lost control of his car and hit a tree; he was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.
Jackson hit the guard rail on the left-hand side of I-985, and the report does not indicate she suffered any injuries.
The investigation into the wreck is on-going.
