DAHLONEGA — Newcomer Amber Skidgel scored 28 points helping led the University of North Georgia women's basketball team to a dominant home opening win over Auburn-Montgomery, 94-56, Friday night at Memorial Hall. The Nighthawks improve to 3-0 on the season with the victory.
The Nighthawks led wire-to-wire in the game taking the lead with a Skidgel three-pointer at the 8:29 mark in the first half and never looking back. UNG carried a 14-point advantage over AUM in both the first and fourth quarters helping the Nighthawks find the 38-point win.
NOTES
- UNG had four players score in double figures: Amber Skidgel, Jordan Livesay, Deana Blankinship, and Kelsey Hutchins. Livesay led the Nighthawks in rebounds with eight boards on the night.
- The Nighthawks improve to 9-3 against Auburn-Montgomery since 2001. It was the first match between the former NAIA-foes since February 2005.
