SUGAR HILL — Lanier football saw its season come to an end on Friday night at the hands of Allatoona, 28-6 in Sugar Hill.

The Longhorns fell behind 14-0 in the first quarter on a 50-yard touchdown pass from Buccaneers quarterback Tate Tatum and an interception return for a score.

Lanier fought its way back into the contest with a 2-yard touchdown run from quarterback Noah Fritz -- but it would prove the Longhorns only trip to paydirt against an Allatoona defense that forced numerous turnovers on downs -- including on fourth and goal at the Buccaneers' 1-yard line with 4:50 remaining.

Tatum also added a 20-yard touchdown pass to Grant Hughes just before halftime for a 21-6 advantage (Lanier missed its PAT).

Charles Anderson added a 10-yard touchdown run with 10:00 remaining.

The Longhorns' season is now complete.
