Lakewood Baptist will host an information and orientation meeting for families who may be interested in fostering or adopting children on Sunday.
The meeting will be conducted by the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services at the church at 3:00.
Information will be presented describing the need for foster parents in the region as well as the process of becoming a certified foster parent.
Lakewood volunteer, Teresa Grimes, says “there is no commitment required by attending the session. It’s simply an opportunity to learn. For those who decide a serious interest, formal training will begin early next year. Our missions’ ministry, “Jochebed’s Hope,” is co-sponsoring the session with DFACS.”
The Bible says Jochebed was the mother of Moses and the Scriptures’ first woman who placed her child up for adoption.
