Two groups will join forces Saturday at a Gainesville church in an initiative targeting homeless veterans and veterans in need.
"Help for Veterans," sponsored by American Legion Post 328 and the Northeast Georgia Veterans Coalition, will be held at St. John Baptist Church on E.E. Butler Parkway from 10:00-2:00.
Federal, state, public and private agencies will be on hand offering free assistance such as VA benefit and PTSD counseling; health screenings; welfare, Social Security, and legal services; food baskets, addiction services; housing, medical and employment assistance; haircuts; and clothing provisiions.
