Falcons' Matt Bryant wins NFC Special Teams player of the month for October.

FLOWERY BRANCH — Matt Bryant wins NFC Special Teams player of the month for the month of October.

Bryant became the Falcons all-time leading scorer after converting a field goal and an extra point on Atlanta’s first two drives against the Packers. Bryant has compiled 812 points in a Falcons uniform, surpassing Morten Andersen’s record of 806 points. Bryant topped the record in just 103 games – 21 games faster than Andersen who is the NFL’s all-time leading scorer. Bryant finished the game connecting on two field goals and three extra points, totaling 12 points to help push Atlanta to a 33-32 victory at the Georgia Dome.

During the month of October, Bryant went 11-of-12 on field goals, ranking him second in made field goals for the month. Bryant also led all scorers during the month, with 50 points. He currently leads all players in scoring in the NFL with 78 total points.

Bryant joins Morten Andersen as the only kickers in Falcons history to win multiple Special Teams Player of the Month awards. He is also the third player this season for the Falcons to win the Player of the Month Award (Matt Ryan and Deion Jones – September).
