A man died in an early Sunday morning fire at the InTown Suites motel in Suwanee.
Firefighters were called to the scene on Celebration Drive, near I-85, shortly after 2:00 a.m. and found smoke coming from a room on the first floor, according to Charles Wells, Gwinnett County Fire Department deputy chief.
A man was pulled from the room and pronounced dead at the scene; the Medical Examiner's Office is working to identify him and notify his family.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the man's exact cause of death. Foul play cannot be ruled out at this point, Wells said.
No other injuries were reported, and the motel's sprinkler system was able to contain the blaze to a single room.
