CLEVELAND — The Truett McConnell women's soccer team outshot Columbia International 25-1 in a 2-0 win Saturday afternoon at the TMU Soccer Complex. With the win, the Bears improve to 6-5.
The game was scoreless until Lauren Huston came off the bench and fired a shot off of the Rams' goalkeeper in the 39th minute to put TMU up, 1-0.
After winning a corner kick in the 71st minute, Bailey Pickering sent the ball in and found Elise Lombard wide open in the box. Lombard settled the ball and fired it home to bring the match to its final score.
The Bears outshot CIU 12-0 in the first half and 13-1 in the second half. They also held the Rams to just one corner kick to TMU's six.
Truett McConnell will jump back into AAC play on Tuesday as Bryan College comes to the TMU Soccer Complex for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
