TALLULAH FALLS — At the 2016 Piedmont College Cross Country Invitational, the Lady Lions used the home course advantage to win the team title behind Reese Bowles' individual title. Bowles led the way for the Lady Lions taking home her second individual crown at the Piedmont College Invitational after winning the event last season as well.

Piedmont led the way with a team average of 25:36 as the only team with three individuals in the top-10. The Lady Lions' team title came against several USA South foes including the two teams picked ahead of them in the preseason poll, Meredith (preseason #1) & Covenant (preseason #2).

Bowles ran a 24:14.30 to pace the squad as she was in contention at the top throughout, but sealed the victory distancing herself from second place Kylie Spencer of Pfeiffer by nearly 30 seconds. Casey Todd was the top freshman among the USA South competitors finishing 6th overall running a 25:13.00.

Piedmont's other top-10 performance came from Kristin Whitlock as she ran a 25:40.60 coming in ninth overall. Mackenzie Devine and Melanie Rimawi continue to round out the top five for the Lady Lions and again finished back-to-back as Devine ran a 26:25.40 and Rimawi posted a 26:26.70.
