FLOWERY BRANCH — Flowery Branch scored 19 first quarter points and never looked back en route to a 33-0 win over Cedar Shoals on Friday in Flowery Branch.
The Falcons (3-3, 2-0 Region 8-AAAAA) got it done in all phases, rushing for 183 yards, passing 161 and holding the Jaguars to just 126 while also blocking a punt for a score. The lone blemish were the 10 penalties Flowery Branch accrued, as they racked up their second straight win -- and second in region play.
Falcons quarterback Nick Lance hooked up with Jalin Strown for a first quarter touchdown to make it 6-0, while Will Price blocked a Cedar Shoals punt for a score. Myles Janess also lofted a 58-yard touchdown to Strown to help the Falcons to a 19-0 advantage in the first quarter.
Lance also hooked up with Malik Drayton for a 15-yard touchdown in the third quarter, while Kory Graham rounded out the scoring on a 10-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Flowery Branch travels to Walnut Grove next week.
