Habersham County United Way is in the final stages of planning for three fall fundraisers benefiting the 2016 Campaign.
All fall events will take place in the next two months, providing attendees with fun experiences while supporting a great cause, according to a press release from United Way officials. The 2016 Campaign goal for the year is $575,000.
The first event on the horizon is the Charity Sporting Clays Shoot on Saturday, October 15th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 2320 Hardman Road in Clarkesville. This shooting tournament is open to anyone over 18 years in age, but limited to 40 teams (160 shooters). There will be 10-12 shooting stations dependent on the final team count. Cost is $125 per individual shooter or $400 per team. Individual shooters will be placed on teams. Registration fees include clay targets and a BBQ lunch donated by local businesses. All participants must provide their own shells for the tournament as well as protective, shatterproof eye wear and hearing protection. Prizes will be awarded for top 3 teams as well as top overall shooter. Pre-registration is recommended for a guaranteed spot and event t-shirt, but registration will be open on event morning on a first come basis. Later that week, Ethicon is sponsoring the 18th Annual United Way Fall Classic at the beautiful Orchard Golf & Country Club on Tuesday, October 18th. $500 will register your team for 4 players including green and cart fees, range balls, catered lunch, course beverage and snacks, commemorative team photo and a complimentary gift. The final fundraising event for this campaign year will take place at Yonah Mountain Winery on Friday, November 4th from 7 to 11 p.m. with the “Paint A Brighter Tomorrow Dinner Gala & $10,000 Raffle." Admission for the event is $200 and includes entry for 2, gourmet dinner buffet provided by Honeybrook Catering, 2 alcoholic beverages and the chance to take home $10,000! Attire is smart casual. A cash bar will be available for additional drinks including beer & wine. Several amazing silent auction items will also be available to bid on during the course of the evening as the $10,000 winner is narrowed down. Dinner entertainment will be provided by the Kip Dockery Trio. Ticket holder doesn’t have to be present to win but must have someone representing them in case of a decision to split the winnings when the drawing is down to 5 finalists.
