Bearcats claw past UNG men's basketball, 97-84

GREENWOOD, S.C. — Lander's J.R. Washington netted a game-high 30 points and led four Bearcats in double figures Saturday afternoon as Lander University defeated the University of North Georgia men's basketball team 97-84 in Peach Belt Conference action in Horne Arena.

Juan Rivas posted a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Nighthawks. Tanner Piemmons added 17 points, T.J. Williams 15 points, and Roderick English 12 points. Ebo Smith chipped in a game-high seven assists.

North Georgia falls to 4-17 overall and 2-10 in the PBC, while Lander improves to 16-5 and 10-2 in league.
