The Piedmont College women's basketball duo of Mary Kate Ruston and Dakota Sullens earned "Women's Basketball Play of the Month" honors this week.
Rushton blocked a shot at one end of the court and then tossed a half-court pass to Sullens for a lay-up in a 60-52 victory over Centre.
The USA South Athletic Conference introduced the play of the week for the 2015-16 women's basketball season. Winners are chosen by fan voting and are featured both on the USA South website and its social networking outlets (Twitter / YouTube / Instagram). At the end of the season, each monthly winner will be nominated for USA South Women's Basketball Play of the Year. The nominated plays are released on the first Tuesday of each month during the season.
Rushton and Sullens' play earned 86 percent of the 586 total votes cast..
