GAINESVILLE - The Hall County Master Gardener Fall Expo returns Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26 at Chicopee Woods Agricultural Center, 1855 Calvary Church Road, Gainesville, GA 30507.
This colorful extravaganza features over 40 vendors from many aspects of a gardeners’ favorite things to shop for, such as garden themed woodworking, glassworks, pottery, tools and of course, enough plants to surprise and delight! You’ll find butterfly attractors, scented geraniums, hostas, irises, and daylilies among many more. Then, there are plants that are resistant to those cute pests that every gardener loves to hate – deer. And what would you think about a plant that blooms at night? That’s right – come see for yourself a night blooming cereus. And if you’re confused about where to plant all these new goodies, there will be a landscape designer on site as well. Best of all, if you buy a plant at Expo, you know that it will grow in our climate.
There will also be speakers on Saturday, when Dave Rusk will present composting at 11 a.m., followed by Jody Karlin speaking about using conifers in your garden at 1 p.m. Food vendors will be there too with pork sandwiches and kettle corn. Carts will be available to borrow. There is a Holding Area for shoppers whose eyes are bigger than their carts to place their goodies while they head back into the shopping arena with an empty cart to fill again!
The gates are open on Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:30 p.m. - 4 a.m. There is a $2 per adult admission fee. Children are admitted free, but pets have to stay home. More information is available at 770-535-8293 or online.
