White County authorities nab Hall robbery suspect

CLERMONT - Authorities with the White County Sheriff's Office arrested the man believed responsible for a gas station robbery Wednesday morning in Hall County.

Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Nicole Bailes said Larry Raquan Thomas, 26, is  the suspect in the 7:20 a.m. robbery of the Shell station north of Clermont on Cleveland Highway.

Booking information from the Hall County Sheriff's Office listed the suspect's name as Larry Ricardo Thomas.

He was arrested on Chandace Drive at the White/Hall County line just a short distance from were the robbery occurred, according to White County Chief Deputy Bob Ingram.

Bailes said the suspect wielded a handgun and demanded money from a clerk at the business near Camelback Road.

No one was injured in the robbery.

Ingram said investigators are continuing to gather evidence they believe will connect Thomas to the break-in of a Dollar General Store earlier Wednesday in Cleveland and another Dollar General break-in early Saturday morning near the White/Hall County line.

K-9 handlers as well as Hall and White County deputies searched the area of a gas station for a couple of hours.

"Thomas faces charges of aggravated assault and armed robbery. Thomas was transported to White County to be interviewed and faces additional charges through their agency," Bailes said in an email statement.
