MOUNT AIRY — Rabun County scored 35 unanswered points to erase an early deficit and beat Habersham Central 42-14 Friday night.
Bailey Fisher led the way for the Wildcats (1-1) with 228 yards passing and another 105 yards rushing and accounted for three touchdowns. Charlie Woerner caught a pair of touchdown passes and Cal Drummond had two touchdowns and 75-yards rushing for Rabun County.
Habersham Central (0-1) led early getting a 68-yard touchdown pass from Cole Wilbanks to Mason Kinsey and then recovered a fumble in the end zone to take a 14-7 lead with 7 seconds left in the first quarter.
It stayed that way until late in the second quarter when Fisher ran 16 yards for a touchdown but a two-point conversion with the Raiders taking a 14-13 lead into halftime.
It was all Wildcats in the second half.
Cal Drummond raced 72 yards for a score with 6:57 left in the third quarter to give Rabun County and Eli Gipson capped a short 37-yard drive with a 7-yard run to push it to a 28-14 lead. Fisher and Woerner connected on a 35-yard touchdown pass with 31 seconds left in the third quarter.
The Raiders turned the ball over their own 1 and Drummond finished the scoring with a 3-yard run for the final score.
Wilbanks finished with 124 yards passing for Habersham Central.
