Volleyball: GHS sweeps quad-match on the road

RABBITTOWN — The Gainesville girls volleyball team swept a quad-match at East Hall Thursday.

The Lady Red Elephants (4-1) defeated Winder-Barrow 2-0 (25-10, 25-21), Monroe Area 2-0 (25-8, 25-9) and East Hall 2-0 (25-16, 25-23) without dropping a set.

Sydney King had 27 digs and three aces to lead Gainesville. Savannah Roys had 12 aces, 32 assists, and four blocks. Abby Alexander had seven blocks and six kills, Caroline Mercer had four digs and three aces, and Tanai Watson had seven digs and 10 kills for the Lady Red Elephants.

Tanji Miller had four kills, Morgan Frazier had three blocks, Anna Wiley had three blocks and three kills, Bessie Winston had two digs and three aces, Sally Callahan had three digs, 10 aces, and four kills, and Cori Griffith had two kills for Gainesville.

Gainesville next will travel to Chestatee next Tuesday for a quad-match with Chestatee, North Hall, and Flowery Branch.
