DULUTH - Dr. Carlton Young, a North Gwinnett Advanced TM Club #2389831 member, will represent District 44 as one the semifinalists in the Toastmasters’ 2015 World Champion of Public Speaking contest in Las Vegas from August 12-15.
To compete in the World Championship, members must win the Club contest, along with the area, division, and district contest. Now, Dr. Young advances to the World Championship Level of Competition.
Over 30,000 contenders in Toastmasters Clubs from 113 countries entered this contest on a local level, embarking on a year-long process of elimination through club, area, and district competitions. At this level, the remaining 96 contenders are required to give two speeches.
Dr. Carlton Young is a United States Marine Corps veteran and entrepreneur, and was also a former homeless single father a young son, who came out on the other side a successful inspirational speaker and author. Most recently, he has traveled throughout Georgia presenting his speeches in preparation for the August contest.
