CHICOPEE - Lanier Charter Career Academy (LCC) was host Thursday night for a ceremony at which twelve Hall County School District students were awarded four separate industry credentials (MIG welding, OSHA 10, industrial forklift operator, and workforce soft skills).

Hall County Schools Supt. Will Schofield says through a unique partnership with Lanier Technical College and the Technical College System of Georgia (TCG), these students now possess work-ready skills and a new level of hope.

"Eight of these young adults have already been hired by local manufacturing companies, and the remaining students are continuing their education at LCCA," Schofield added.  "Our intent is to expand this type of high-demand, adult education training to provide unprecedented opportunities for students who have not found their niche in traditional school programs."

Schofield singled-out Lanier Tech, TCG and Gov. Nathan Deal's office "for helping to make this a reality."
