ATLANTA - A state lawmaker from Gainesville and one from Homer are among six that have been named to a school counseling study committee by state House Speaker David Ralston.
Named to the House Study Committee on School Counseling and Role of School Counselors were:
- Rep. Joyce Chandler (R-Grayson), Chairman
- Rep. Valerie Clark (R-Lawrenceville)
- Rep. Tom Dickson (R-Cohutta)
- Rep. Dan Gasaway (R-Homer)
- Rep. Lee Hawkins (R-Gainesville)
- Rep. Randy Nix (R-LaGrange)
Ralston announced the appointments Thursday.
The committee was established by the state House earlier this year and will study "how best to design and implement comprehensive school counseling programs," according to the press release announcing the appointments.
