LULA - Georgia State Patrol officials say an active manhunt is underway in Lula for the man who has eluded them for several days.
Sgt. 1st Class G.R. Harper of GSP Post 6 in Gainesville said GSP, GSP aviation, Hall County Sheriff's Office and Lee Arrendale State Prison K-9 Unit are searching in the area of Lula Elementary School.
The man who ran in that area around 9 p.m. Sunday matches the description of Ryan Hovey, who should be considered armed and dangerous.
Harper asks people to avoid the area, and that those in the area call 9-1-1 if they see Hovey or anything suspicious.
