AccessWDUN adds blogs, expands business news

By AccessWDUN staff

AccessWDUN is adding fresh, new content to its website today as it continues to position itself as the primary source of news for the people of North Georgia.

The site is adding a new blog section, which will feature the award-winning columns of Mitch Clarke and Katie B. Davis, as well as regular features from other members of the AccessWDUN staff.

Clarke’s popular slice-of-life column won numerous awards, including best serious column in 2010 and best humorous column in 2011 from the Georgia Press Association, when it appeared in The Times. Clarke will revive the column on AccessWDUN, with new postings coming each Sunday.

Davis, host of WDUN’s popular “Game On” sports talk program, is also an award-winning journalist, having won GPA and AP awards for best sports writing and best sports column. Her periodic postings will feature local athletes, as well as her unique insights into the world of sports.

In addition, regular blogs will be written by staffers Alyson Shields, Brian Stewart and Bill Wilson. Shields plans to write about unique locales in North Georgia. Stewart, a University of Georgia graduate, will write about UGA sports. And Wilson will write about anything that’s on his mind.

AccessWDUN is also adding some content to its business section that will allow local businesses the opportunity to get coverage on items that might not normally make the news. The business page will now feature a section called “Submitted News.” It will include news releases from local businesses about promotions, awards, expansions and other noteworthy items.

Businesses would want to be included can submit their items in writing to [email protected].
