GAINESVILLE — In 2013 Mary Frances Hull was commissioned by Elachee Nature Science Center to create a tile mosaic wall mural consisting of glazed stoneware clay. The mural which is thin-set mounted on several separate panels, measures 8 feet by 6 feet and is located in the Elachee Nature Science Center’s welcoming area. It consists of images depicting indigenous flora and fauna of north Georgia including a semblance of the creek and rock features which flows through Elachee as well as wildlife local to north Georgia. The mural was constructed in a private studio at the Quinlan Visual Arts Center.
This year, Hull will be working with the City of Flowery Branch and local high school students to create totems using mosaic tiles painted by the students and creating a "wayfinding" sign for downtown Flowery Branch.
