GAINESVILLE — Six Gainesville High School students were recently awarded laptop computers for their participation in a statewide essay contest sponsored by High School High Tech (HSHT), an organization established through Vocational Rehabilitation of Georgia.
They are: Logan Henderson, Ruth Nwefo, Sharia Jowers, Deshun Bryant, Maria Eller-Cano and Kelan Henderson.
Students with disabilities from across the state participated in the contest for an opportunity to receive a new laptop equipped with software with special accommodations.
The laptops contain specialized features such as the ability to read text books to students, speech to text capabilities for writing papers and enlarged print magnification for vision impaired students.
