GAINESVILLE - The Dean of College Education at Brenau University - Sandra Lee Leslie - has been named to the state Professional Standards Commission.
The appointment was made by Gov. Nathan Deal
According to its Website http://www.gapsc.com/Commission/About.aspx, the commission is responsible for the preparation, certification, and professional conduct of certified personnel employed in the state's public schools. Its responsibilities also include such areas as supporting recruiting functions through the TeachGeorgia.org website.
Leslie currently serves on the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club, the advisory council for Vision 2030 at the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, and chairs the Northeast Georgia Deans Association.
Her appointment is one of several to announced by Gov. Deal Friday.
