Jason Hiett, of Oxford, Ala. made the trip to Georgia and was the class of the field as he led wire-to-wire to win Saturday night’s Bill Ingram Memorial Super Late Model feature at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Ga.
Hiett took the lead at the green flag, leaving others to fight for position behind him. Ray Cook and Dylan Ames ran nose to tail for second with Ames trying to find a way around Cook. Ames took second after Cook fell out with engine problems, only to lose the position to Shawn Chastain in the later laps.
Chastain looked for a time to be gaining on Hiett as the two drivers began to thread their way through lapped traffic, but Chastain ran out of laps before any serious challenge could be mounted against the leader. Hiett scored the win, with Chastain in second. Ames held on for third while Derek Ellis finished in fourth with Donald Mcintosh in fifth.
With several top finishes in the Steel Head Late Model divison this season, Chris Fennell finally broke through to victory lane in the Saturday’s division feature. Chuck Padgett and Don Jenkins gave chase, with Jenkins looking for his fourth win a row. Jenkins fell out midway through the race with water pump issues, leaving Padgett firmly in second place. Levi Hicks finished third, with Alan Brewer fourth and Jimmy Price in fifth.
Justin Shipley scored his third Crate Late Model feature win of the year, with Zach Pilcher in second, John Williams in third, Jake Jones in fourth and Tony Beck in fifth.
Andy Morris made another trip to Super Bomber victory lane, with Daniel Brewer in second and Justin Begley in third. A major pileup in turn one at the start of the feature took out over half the field. Fourteen-year-old Sam Gibson ended up with a broken wrist and arm, but was otherwise okay.
Eric Hamby scored his first Economy Bomber win of the season, beating out Landon Bagby, with Dan Meadows, James Gagnon and Kyle Beavers rounding out the top five.
Jamie Cross took his eighth overall and fifth straight Pony Stock win of the season. Ronnie Faucett finished in second, with Jason Berrong in third, Mitchell Pope in fourth and Willie Garrett in fifth.
Edwin Scott was the winner in the Cruiser feature, crossing the finish line ahead of Anthony Pittman in second, George Wilson in third, Randy Ledford in fourth and Stephen Smith in fifth.
