DEMOREST - The Habersham County Canning Plant will be opening for the season on Monday June 29 from 7:00-12:00, and Tuesday June 30 from 4:00-8:00. Starting July 6, the plant will be open Mondays from 7:00-12:00, Tuesdays from 4:00-8:00, and Thursdays from 7:00a12:00. All products must be in the jar/can by closing time. The Habersham County Canning Plant will also be offering a Tomato Canning Class onTuesday June 30 at 4:00. This will be a chance to learn how the equipment in the canning plant works and how to make tomato juice, crushed tomatoes, and uses of the tomatoes once they are canned. All materials will be furnished and each participant will be able to take home one jar of tomato juice. Pre-registration is required.
