CUMMING - One person was killed and another seriously injured early Friday evening in a two-vehicle collision in Forsyth County.

According to Deputy Robin Regan with the county Sheriff's Office, the fatal wreck occured on Highway 369, also known as Matt Highway, at Dr. Bramblett Road.

"Just before 6 p.m....we had a car crash involving a tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle," Regan said. "The driver of the passenger vehicle died on scene as a result of their injuries."

Regan said a passenger in that same vehicle was airlifted from the scene and transported to a local hospital. He did not specify the exact nature of their injuries.

The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.

Regan said that due to the early nature of the investigation, which is ongoing, few details could be released.

"We're not able to release any names or identities at this time...we're still working on getting in touch with the families," he explained.

Traffic specialists with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office were said to be leading the investigation, with Regan noting that the Georgia State Patrol also responded to the crash scene due to the involvement of the tractor trailer.

Regan said more information should be made available within the coming days.
