For many people, Memorial Day Weekend is all about traveling. And with the current price of gasoline, it can easily be about fuel mileage as well.
On Sunday, nobody mastered holiday fuel mileage better than Carl Edwards. Edwards squeezed 60 laps out of a single tank of fuel to score the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The win snaps a 31-race drought for Edwards, and also marked his first win since moving to Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 19 Toyota earlier this season.
Following the win, we heard from Edwards, who talked about the win and what it meant to finally get his Joe Gibbs Toyota to victory lane. We also heard from team owner Joe Gibbs and second place finisher Greg Biffle. Kyle Busch, in his first full-length race since being injured in February at Daytona, finished 11th, and talked about his race.
On Saturday, Austin Dillon dominated the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Charlotte, leading 163 of the race’s 200 laps en route to the victory. Afterwards, we heard from Dillon about the win, along with second place finisher Denny Hamlin and fifth place finisher Darrell Wallace, Jr.
The NASCAR Sprint Cup and Xfinity Series now moves on to the fast paced, concrete mile that is Dover International Raceway in Dover, DE. WDUN will have live MRN Radio coverage of the entire NASCAR race weekend.
