COMMERCE — The Georgia State Patrol and Jackson County authorities are investigating a fatal collision between a bicycle and a vehicle.
Jackson County EMS Director Steve Nichols said in an email statement the victim is a local resident in his 50s, but he was not able to release the man's name. The victim died at the scene, according to Nichols.
The incident happened just after 7 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 441 South near Allen Road.
There is no word at this point on charges.
This is the second fatal accident in Jackson County this month involving a bicyclist and a vehicle.
