With the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series ready to head to Kansas Speedway this weekend, it's time to take one more look in the rearview mirror at the weekend at Talladega Superspeedway.
Dale Earnhardt, Jr. came home with a commanding victory over the field in Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. Over the closing laps, his competitors tried to put together a run to get around him, but could not muster enough to even attempt a pass. Afterwards, Earnhardt, Jr. talked not only about the victory, but also at length about his late father, Dale Earnhardt, Sr., who is the all-time wins leader at Talladega.
We also heard from second place finisher Jimmie Johnson, along with fourth place finisher Ryan Blaney, who recorded his best career series victory driving for the legendary Wood Brothers Racing.
On Saturday, Joey Logano scored a decisive victory in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Talladega, holding off a late charge by Brian Scott for the win. We also heard from Scott about his day, along with third place finisher Austin Dillon.
Up next for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is a trip to Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., for the SpongeBob Squarepants 400. WDUN will have live MRN Radio coverage of the complete race weekend.
