NICHOLSON — A Jackson County family lost everything in a house fire Tuesday afternoon, according to EMS Director Steve Nichols.
Nichols said the home at 330 Hunters Ridge Road in Nicholson is a complete loss. The occupants were home at the time and escaped without injury, but one firefighter did sustain a minor injury to his ankle during the operation.
Nichols said the fire started on or near the front porch and appeared to be accidental.
He said the fire occurred during the lunch hour.
Unites from Nicholson, Commerce and the Jackson County Correctional Institure Fire Departments responded.
The American Red Cross was called to assist the displaced occupants of the house.
