TOCCOA -- Chestatee suffered its third shutout loss in five games after falling 7-0 to Stephens County Tuesday in Region 8-AAAA action on the road.
It was a key game for both teams, who are locked in a five-team battle for fourth place in the region.
The Indians (11-8, 6-5 Region 8-AAAA) banged out 12 hits in thw victory. Chestatee (8-9, 4-5) had just five hits with Eric George, Brian Crawford, Griffin Moore, Joe Sutton, and Sean Irick each tallyinh one hit piece.
The War Eagles will play host to Stephens County on Wednesday at 5:55 p.m. in the second game of the series.
