GHCC Small Business Seminar to focus on employee embezzlement

GAINESVILLE - The Greater Hall Chamber's Small Business Success Seminar is Tuesday, April 14 from 7:45 AM to 9:00 AM at the Lanier Tech Manufacturing Development Center at Featherbone Communiversity, 999 Chestnut Street in Gainesville.

Representatives from Rushton & Company, LLC and Stewart, Melvin and Frost, LLP will present a Crash Course in Employee Embezzlement

The typical organization loses 5% of revenues each year to fraud according to the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners’ 2014 Report to the Nations on Occupational Fraud and Abuse.

Nicholas Bruner and Samuel Latimer of Rushton & Co., LLCwill discuss just how common occupational fraud is, the red flags and techniques to detect when someone may be committing fraud and some practical policies and procedures for fraud prevention. Rustin Smith and Ronny Hulsey of Stewart, Melvin & Frost, LLP will clarify the legal requirements for proving fraud after you have determined someone is stealing, and map out the different paths for relief so you will be ready to handle the situation when it happens.
