Victims in multi-fatal band van crash in Jackson Co. identified

COMMERCE - The Georgia State Patrol has released the identities of the three people who were killed and eight others injured in the crash of a van on I-85 near Commerce Monday morning.

GSP spokeswoman Franka Young confirmed the van was carrying members of two bands, but she would not say which bands they were.

Twitter and Facebook has been active with comments from fans of the heavy metal bands Wormreich and Khaotika, claiming that those were the bands involved in the crash. 

According to the GSP-

Deceased transported to Athens Regional Medical Center: 

Nicholas R. Crisostomo, age 25 from Round Hill, VA

Ian A. McKinney, age 30 from Madison, TN

Paul. J. Truesdell, age 29 from Mableton, GA

Injured transported to Athens Regional Medical Center:

Matthew A. Shaner, Age 31 from Silver Springs, MD

Jasmine Zarinebaf, age 19 from Naperville, IL

Kamilla Hayes, age 44 from Norcross, GA

Batricia Shoemaker, age 49 from Jonesboro, GA

Christopher Pezzano, age 45 from Toney, AL

Injured transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center:

Christopher E. Pyle, age 27 from Owensboro, KY

James C. Berile, age 25 from Leesburg, VA

Stephen K. Shoemaker, age 53 from Jonesboro, GA

The 15-passenger van was traveling southbound on I-85 when it left the roadway near mile marker 147, which is close to Highway 98/Maysville Road.

Sergio J. Quesada, age 27 from Athens, was the driver; he was not injured.  Officials with GSP say the accident remains under investigation and that charges may be pending.
