The report contains key data on Georgia’s technology landscape and serves as a valuable resource for facts, statistics, trends and other insights into the state’s technology industry. More than 1,200 Summit attendees received key findings from the report, which highlights the achievements and challenges facing the state’s technology community. Some of statistics from the report includes:

“TAG’s State of the Industry Report is an important resource for both technologists living in Georgia and businesses contemplating moving here,” said Paul Carmody, chief executive officer of Atlanta-based software company AchieveIt and Chairman of the TAG Thought Leadership Task Force.  “The report is a barometer of the robust technology industry that we have in Georgia.”

This year’s TAG State of the Industry: Technology in Georgia Report focuses on Advancing Georgia's Innovation Economy and features the Innovation Index, which compares the state's performance in such areas as human capital, economic dynamics and productivity. Primary and secondary research for the report is conducted by Internet Decisions, LLC, including TAG’s annual Technology Decision Makers Survey which polled more than 300 of Georgia’s technology executives about how innovation is affecting our technology community.

"Georgia's technology sector is essential to building an innovation-based economy in the state, and our research shows how important the sector is for job creation," said Keith Herndon, president of Internet Decisions. "Communication Services, Health IT and FinTech continue as economic drivers, and we're also seeing significant innovation activities and technology job growth in emerging areas such as Advanced Manufacturing and Digital Media and Entertainment."
